It's chicken pan pie, only smaller, easier, faster and besides party-friendly.

I took this first-rate work winter comfort food and reimagined it viewed like a holiday party appetizer. Because while facing down party after party of relatives and dullards (you be sure who I'm talking relating to), a bite or two of satisfaction can help get you through the death.

To keep this simple, I started ~ the agency of using preformed pastry shells made from phyllo dough. These are widely useful in the grocer's freezer segment. And because they are precooked, completely you need to do is stock and heat them.

About that filling. Because the revels are small, the filling needs to have ~ing simple. So I stuck with carrots, peas and chicken. For the creamy base, I opted against cream cheese (use low-fat granting that you prefer) thinned with just a coin of egg white.

CHICKEN POT PIE PARTY APPETIZERS

If you like, these small portrait pot pies can be topped through a layer of puff pastry. To prepare the tops, dissolve a sheet of prepared frozen blow in ~s pastry according to package directions. Use a 1-inch round cookie cutter to cut circles, therefore bake them on a baking sheet at 350 F according to 15 minutes. Set one baked not directly over each fully baked pot pie equitable before serving.
