FRIDAY, Feb. 17 (HealthDay News) -- Complication rates in quest of women older than 50 who turn to pregnant through egg donation are uniform to those of younger women, according to a modern study.

The finding contradicts epidemiological given conditions suggesting that these older women are at higher jeopardize for pregnancy complications such as hypertension (pre-eminent blood pressure), gestational diabetes, premature beginning and placenta abnormalities, the Columbia University Medical Center researchers before-mentioned.

The study included a group of almost 100 women 50 and older and a different group of women 42 and younger, all of whom became pregnant from urge donation.

Both groups had similar rates of gestational hypertension and diabetes, Cesarean labor, and premature birth. Two of the older women versed serious complications, including one who died, according to a medical center news release.

In one of those cases, a 56-year-crafty developed heavy vaginal bleeding at 29 weeks of pregnancy and required ~y emergency cesarean hysterectomy to deliver sum of ~ units weeks later. In another, a 49-year-crafty woman died after she suffered not chronic cardiac arrest in her first three months. The researchers believe her death was unrelated to her pregnancy, boundary rather due to her heavy smoking.

All women who conversion to an act egg donation to become pregnant are at increased peril for obstetrical complications, but older women finish not appear to have a greater peril than younger women, the study authors concluded.

"It is imperative that all older women undergo finished medical screening before attempting pregnancy to make sure the best possible outcome," study former Dr. Mark Sauer, a professor of tocology and gynecology, said in the tidings release. "But, really, that should put to younger women, as well."
